Money can indeed do wonders.

Attended the AIESEC Global Internship Talk at Business School on Tuesday, and I'm super motivated to sign up. But the selection criteria is quite tough, so it might not be that easy to be selected. I'm still contemplating whether to go for Development or Educational Intern though.
Thursday was spent in school trying to appeal for my psychology tutorial. After much discussion, I finally managed to get a desirable slot since wednesday is the only day that I free.
Today is basically experiment day. I did like 4 experiments today and its fun doing all these different tests. But it's not those electrifying tests on your forehead. After this tiring session, I fulfiled like 5 points out of the 12.
By Next week I will complete the entire requirement for the psychology module.
That's all for now, I'm looking forward to my next experiment next wed.

As to when it started, I couldn't remember for sure, all I know is everyone become so totally obessesd with it, so much so that weird websites like http://ilovegoldenpath.com/ http://bakkugirlchio.com/ http://resurrectionofjingfeng.com/ http://kaijiesuckass.com/ started appearing out of nowhere. Missed out all this crazy stuff, which is quite a relief, because I might just laugh until I drop dead with spasms.

watched movie Cloverfield after that. I shall not comment on the movie though, watch it and judge for yourselves. I personally felt that it was fine, except for the lousy plot. I was actually quite impressed with their media presentation. Somehow everything that I learnt in literature and critical appreciation tells me it is a good attempt at capturing the viewer's attention. But I don't know what the others will feel.
p.s credits to xia for all the information provided above.

I actually ponned my economics class today so that I can stay at home and count the number of books I owned on my shelf, arrange the flower in the vase a dozen different ways, start thinking of philosophical questions like "will I be the same "I" if I was born differently?" and of course flip through all my comic collection instead of doing revision. That is definitely something that only bored people will probably do.
I must be going crazy with school work (but there isn't supposed to be any work at all). Where can I find the motivation to study?

I was quite disappointed about the camp though, because I really thought we are heading for outward bound school, a place where good memories are kept. I can remember the first time I stepped into obs (and also the first time in ubin), I had lots of fun with my Bo Seng watch. These experiences are still vivid in my mind.
Anyway, we didn't end up in obs, instead we went to this place called kampong ubin, which in my opinion looks almost like pasir ris chalet in a not-so-well maintained condition. The activities we did on the first day are orientation games and rafting, which focuses on team-building qualities. I enjoyed my second day more, because the activities are more concentrated on conquering one own's fears.
I can say I'm somewhat changed after every leadership camp I went to. More confidence, more trust, more determination are some of the things I learnt from this.
The photos are not out yet, so I'll post them when the organisers sent it to us. I'm looking forward to more such activities in the future. That's all for now. I'm too tired and need to catch some sleep after such a tiring monday.

But that has all changed after a year of reflection in 2007. This year onwards, I'm more certain of the things I wanted to do, and will strive to achieve it, be it my studies, work, play, adventure etc. I shall convince myself to be no longer afraid to fail, for one only fails when he gives up trying.
Some of the stuff I aimed to achieve in 2008
1) read 1 new book every month
2) try out a new experience every month
3) Go overseas and explore the world 2 more times
4) learn a new skill this year (master french, social dance, new sports, first aid, driving)
That is all I can think of now. It's time to welcome a new change.

The results were disappointing, at least for me. 2 Cs, 2B-s, 1 A- is not really a good result to show to my potential employers. English was a total flop. I need to work even harder next semester.
On the other side, I'm extremely fortunate to pass my Genes & Society. I almost gave up on this module. Now I have something to less worry about. I can S/U in peace.
But I'm still very depressed.

mr Bean really brightened up my day when I was the most depressed
It has been a fun-filled day for Xmas, since we (me, penghui and ws) did lots of stuff in orchard. The place was still as packed as before, but there wasn't that much crowd than christmas eve countdown. We went down to see the decorations and "flower cars" (I need a proper name for hua che, anyone knows). No wonder so many people still go to town even though they know the dangers of being in a too overly-crowded place. The atmosphere is indeed one of festive joy.

friends for life

with ws
The night was spent at jessie's house, a tradition that we have kept in the haven study group. This is a chance to meet up with jc pals (vinc, weijie, thuva, murali, jessie, gab) who fought the 'A' level battles with me together. Everyone has been busy with their respective lives, and this is one of the rare occassion when everyone made the effort to be present.
No pictures for it, because I was almost knocked out by the alcohol. It is just too unglam to post for all to see.lol.
Today is another happy day, because I'm meeting mixed rice again.

It is heart-warming so see everyone share their thoughts about everything, how they feel about the trip, what they learnt from it, how to improve themselves better. This is the first time I could really see what the others felt about each other. I can say that I understand more about the rest after today, and a closer step to understanding myself better too.
It is sometimes just extraordinary that we all had the chance to come together from complete strangers to such heart-to-heart close friends. I thank everyone in the crew for all the enjoyable time we had before. It has been a tremendous pleasure knowing you all, xia, mil, yilin, zq, yaolong, delon.
I've kept my reflections in a bottle. This will be another treasured item in my life, because at that moment when I was reading it, I felt a change in everything. I shall open it again when yaolong, mildred comes back from their overseas studies 3 years down and relive this exact moment once more.
Merry xmas in advance to all.
(i'm just too happy that i'm almost in tears)
